6/9/12 - Power Vinyasa Yoga
After being at E3 all week and out at parties every night, yoga was a necessity this morning.  I needed to sweat the E3 out.  Ok really I needed to sweat out all the alcohol and not so great food I ate.
I headed over to Be Luminous Yoga to J.’s class.  It was exactly what I needed.  I felt pretty strong today, and loved flowing through Sun Salutation B.  My balances were also surprisingly good today.  The whole class just went smoothly so after doing two rounds of bridges I decided to give wheel a try.
I have yet to really master wheel.  I’ve done it a few times before.  About a year ago I did it for the first time in Caprice’s class.  I had such blind faith in her that when she instructed us to do this new crazy pose I just popped right up without thinking about it.
Ever since then I get too into my head.  Wheel is hard.  Its a back bend, it requires a lot of strength and I’m always kind of worried I’ll drop myself on my head.  But after an inspiring week at E3, and a stellar practice I decided to go for it.
I just pushed and was effortlessly up holding the pose, feeling the inversion, the back bend, the strength in my arms and legs.  I felt like a super Yogini!
It was an amazing feeling to do a pose I had felt out of my reach for so long.  Just goes to show that sometimes we are the only ones holding ourselves back.
